How we list and check AI tools
Every listing follows the same process, so you can trust that the details are current and comparable.
1. Selection
We add tools that have a working public website, a clear purpose and real users. Submissions from makers go through the same review as tools we find ourselves.
2. Checking the official website
Logos, pricing, free plans, platforms and features are taken from each tool’s own website and pricing page. Each listing shows the date it was last checked, and listings are re-checked regularly.
3. Plain-language descriptions
Descriptions are written in our own words to explain what the tool does and who it suits, without marketing language. We may use AI to help draft them; every description is based only on facts from the official website.
4. Categories and professions
Each tool is placed in the tasks it actually performs and tagged with the professions it is most useful for. A tool can appear in several places.
5. Verified badge
A blue tick next to a tool’s name means a member of our team has personally checked its listing against the official website: what it does, current pricing and plans, platforms and the company behind it. It is not a paid feature and not an endorsement.
6. Keeping listings current
Listings are re-checked automatically on a rolling schedule: pricing and plans, platforms, whether the website still works and, for open-source tools, GitHub stars and recent activity. A tool whose website stops responding twice in a row is removed from lists until it is back.
7. Ranking
“Popular” order reflects how often visitors open and visit each tool. Payment never changes a tool’s position. Any sponsored content will be clearly labelled.
Corrections
Pricing and features change often. If something is out of date, tell us and we’ll re-check it.
